Bay City Ventures will provide distribution advice and business development services as part of the agreement, and the two companies will collaborate on expanding the VR22 application to new verticals.
The agreement will bring SB22 into the Japanese market, and the provider will first offer its Fi22 and VR22 betting platforms for free before transitioning to real money gambling once the industry is regulated.
"Bay City Ventures is an ideal strategic partner for SB22 as we look to offer a next-generation Free to Play engagement solution built on top of our enterprise platform," stated Vik Shrestha, CCO of SB22. We are really eager to customise our solution for the Japanese market and to expand globally."
Joji Kokuryo, Managing Director of Bay City Ventures, added, "SB22 has proven their ability to develop innovative technology that prioritises the user experience."
"After receiving a demo of their technology at G2E Las Vegas, it was eye-opening to see the tremendous amount of potential the company has to offer globally and specifically in Japan."
Meanwhile, SB22's VP of Strategy, Steve Laity, stated, "With the expected opening of integrated resorts in Japan, there is an incredible opportunity for operators to begin building a valuable customer database and engaging in meaningful ways."
"Additionally, using our GLI-certified Fi22 platform for free-to-play gaming will ensure a smooth transition to Real Money Gaming in the future."
SB22 created an app for the Apple Watch earlier this year that allows gamblers to place wagers from their wrists.
